Killswitch Engage - Disarm The Descent - Album Review

Year: 2013

Back in the early 2000's, a new trend had emerged in the form of Metalcore. All the new and popular bands were playing it. This was just like Thrash Metal in the late 1980s and Nu Metal in the late 1990s. But as quick as this trend started spreading, bands started running out of fresh ideas and were constantly seen releasing very mediocre records. The lack of quality material, led many to believe that the death of Metalcore was upon them. Killswitch Engage are back with a new album that seems to say, "No! Metalcore still lives!".

Devourment - Conceived In Sewage - Album Review

Year: 2013

Is change a good thing in the world of metal? What happens when an established band decides to experiment and change their sound a little bit? It can go two ways. Execution - Perversions And Blasphemy - Album Review

Year: 2013

Extreme Metal has always seen a mix of two or more sub genres over the course of it's existence. Some of the resulting products have been very successful, like Symphonic Black Metal, Deathgrind, Crossover Thrash, Doom Death Metal for example. So how about a combination of Black Metal and Thrash Metal with subtle influences of Speed Metal? It has been tried before by band like Absu and Skeletonwitch, but this type of music remains largely underground.

Execution, a band from Los Angeles, California, USA, plays this type of music and are very skilled at what they do. Their debut,  Perversions And Blasphemy was released on 5th March, 2013, through the record label Metalhit.com.

Six Feet Under - Unborn - Album Review

Year: 2013

Six Feet Under began as the side project of vocalist Chris Barnes (ex-Cannibal Corpse) and guitarist Allen West (Obituary). Over the years, this band has released 12 studio albums between 1995 to 2012, while being subject to numerous line up changes. Their previous effort, Undead, which came out last year, was very well received with many pointing out that the band was maturing as artists. Now within a year of releasing Undead, the band gets ready to release Unborn on 19th March 2013  through Metal Blade Records.

So, does the new album continue to show the band maturing or does it take them back to their days of playing uninspired cave man metal?

Year: 2013

Ravenous is a Thrash Metal band hailing from Southampton, United Kingdom. Their debut record 'We Are Become Record' was released on Coffee Jingle Records on 16th February 2013.

Recently the metal community has seen a resurgence of the thrash metal scene or the re-thrash scene as it is popularly known.
